Upgrade treatment (treatment not covered by the NHS)

Many of the upgrade treatment options provide you with a more cosmetic solution to your Dental requirements.

As a NHS patient, you are able to have any upgrades or treatment options as agreed with your Dentist. Choosing upgrade treatments does not forfeit your right to NHS treatment and you will remain an NHS patient.

All upgrade treatment will be discussed with you and form part of your treatment plan, This is part of the necessary process of informed consent. Your Dentist may recommend a treatment but you should always consider the risks and benefits before deciding to go ahead.

Upgrades are available for most treatments. Popular upgrades are white fillings and tooth coloured crowns on back teeth, tooth whitening procedures, veneers and all cosmetic dentistry procedures.

Emergency Appointments

Some emergency appointments for new patients, not referred to ADP from the Primary Care Trust (PCT) helpline, may attract a non-NHS fee until they can be accepted for NHS care. Where a Dentist may be able to save a tooth that is not clinically necessary for your health, upgrade Root Canal Treatment may be offered. You would still be able to have a NHS crown or restoration in the tooth following this treatment.

Upgrade Treatment Guarantees And Payment Plans

ADP upgrade treatments are covered by a 12 month quality guarantee, except where you have been advised that the treatment is provisional or of a temporary nature. Treatment plans over £100 are available on extended interest free credit over 10 or 20 months. If you wish to spread the costs of high value treatment over 2 or more years interest bearing plans are also available. Please ask the Practice Manager for details.
